In spite of the fact that digital TV programmes are broadcasted over the same channels as the analogue programmes used to be, their functions are based on a completely different principle: Now, more than one programme fits into one channel because programmes are bundled in a multiplex. This is why a DVB-T receiver is needed to extract the original programmes from the data stream. Only then can single programmes be viewed on TV screens. There are three main categories of DVB-T devices for stationary reception, portable reception and mobile reception.

The tables displayn the list of manufacturers, devices, prices (manufacturer’s recommended retail price), information of specifications and any special features. Devices that meet the minimum requirements of the German TV-Platform and got a DVB-T Certificate of Quality appear on an extra list.
