Data Collection / Legal Basis of Processing

We collect and process your personal data only in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations,

  • in particular when data processing is necessary to fulfill our services to you as a member (such as ensuring the functionality of the member area, processing registration and use of the Deutsche TV-Plattform member area, providing you with relevant information and services, creating a user account, providing information about sessions or general information to our members via an email distribution list, contacting our members),
  • if you have given consent,
  • or if it is necessary due to our legitimate interests (i.e., creating statistics to improve services or reach measurements with immediate anonymization or security of our online offer).

What data do we collect and process?

These are the personal data you provide to us as part of our offers, in particular:

Access data (e.g., username and password), Profile data (e.g., job title, company name, industry, education, contact options, photo), Contract data (membership, contact details for contract processing and communication with users, security measures) or Content data (messages, event participation, session registration, text entries, photographs, videos)

Data when visiting our website: Each time a user accesses the Deutsche TV-Plattform’s internet offer, data about this process is temporarily stored and processed in a log file. This data is evaluated solely for statistical purposes and to improve the offer and then deleted. The information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, and similar.

Data during registration: As part of the registration and use of the Deutsche TV-Plattform member area, it is necessary for you to provide us with certain personal data: first name, last name, company, email address, and, if applicable, first and last name of an accompanying person. For effective registration, we need a valid email address. To verify that a registration is actually made by the owner of an email address, we use the “double opt-in” procedure. We log the registration, the sending of a confirmation email, and the receipt of the response requested with it.

Data for the use of our services: We also offer services where the user can publish their profile data on an online website mediated by the Deutsche TV-Plattform if they expressly consent to this. The data is then only published to the defined user group covered by the consent. The user can revoke their consent to the storage and publication of their data at any time.

Data for organizing internal meetings or external events and events: We organize internal meetings, but also external events. These events are regularly free of charge. To plan and process the events (registration, organization, process), we process your personal data (salutation, first name, last name, location, country, email address) as well as all information voluntarily provided during registration (such as title, company, position).

Depending on the type of event, there may be cooperation partners or external service providers to whom we must transmit your data for the proper execution of the event.

Data when registering for the newsletter: On the Deutsche TV-Plattform website, users are given the opportunity to subscribe to newsletters on various topics at various points. The newsletter is sent and any success measurement associated with it is only carried out if you consent to the processing of your data for this purpose via the double opt-in process. You can revoke your consent at any time.

Deletion or Blocking of Data

We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore only store your personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes mentioned here or as required by the various storage periods provided by the legislator. After the respective purpose has ceased to exist or these periods have expired, the corresponding data is routinely blocked or deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions. You can also revoke your given consent at any time with effect for the future. We will then delete your profile and all personal data.

Your Rights

You can exercise the following rights at any time using the contact details provided (Email: mail(at)tv-plattform.de):

  • Information about your data stored with us and its processing,
  • Correction of incorrect personal data,
  • Deletion of your data stored with us,
  • Restriction of data processing, provided we are not yet allowed to delete your data due to legal obligations,
  • Objection to the processing of your data with us, and
  • Data portability, provided you have consented to data processing or have concluded a contract with us.

Collaboration with Third Parties

To ensure and maintain technical functionality and as part of editorial work for the member area, contacting, and other additional offers, the Deutsche TV-Plattform uses service providers. These include categories of contractors such as software developers, editors, server hosts. We ensure through contracts and controls that data security and data protection are guaranteed by the service providers and that they process the data within our instructions, using the data only to the extent and for the period necessary for the provision of services or to the extent they have consented.

If we transfer data to third parties or otherwise grant them access to the data as part of our processing, this is done only on the basis of a legal permission, if you have consented, if a legal obligation provides for this, or if we can base this on our legitimate interest.

Integration of Third-Party Offers

We use content or service offers such as videos or fonts from third-party providers within our online offer based on our legitimate interests or your consent (opt-in).

Google Maps: We may integrate maps from the “Google Maps” service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. The processed data may include, in particular, IP addresses and location data of the users, which are not collected without their consent (usually as part of their mobile device settings). The data may be processed in the USA. You have the option to easily deactivate the Google Maps service and thus prevent data transfer to Google. To do this, deactivate JavaScript in your browser. The map display can then not be used. Google’s privacy policy can be found at: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

YouTube Videos: Our website uses components of the site YouTube, operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, represented by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube is informed of which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your surfing behavior to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

On some of our websites, we also embed YouTube videos. The operator of the corresponding plugins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

In this integration, content from the YouTube website is displayed in parts of a browser window (“framing”). The integration of YouTube content is only done in “enhanced privacy mode”. This is provided by YouTube and ensures that no cookies are stored on your device initially. However, when you access the relevant pages, your access data collected when visiting our pages, such as the IP address and browser ID, are transmitted and thus, in particular, which of our internet pages you have visited. This information cannot be assigned to you unless you are currently logged into YouTube or another Google service. If you start playing an embedded video by clicking, YouTube stores cookies on your device through the enhanced privacy mode, which do not contain personally identifiable data. These cookies can be prevented by appropriate browser settings and extensions.

Further information on the handling of user data and data protection can be found at: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780?hl=de and in Google’s privacy policy https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

Use of Script Libraries (Google Web Fonts): To display our content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers, we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/) on this website. Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser’s cache to avoid multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Webfonts or blocks access, content is displayed in a standard font.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use “cookies”. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system, and your connection to the internet.

When individual pages are accessed, so-called temporary cookies are used. They are necessary and serve the technically flawless operation of our website and cannot be deactivated in your systems. These session cookies do not contain personal data and expire after the session ends. Techniques such as Java applets or Active-X controls, which allow tracking of user access behavior, are not used. Other cookies, especially from third-party providers, are only activated and stored on your computer if you expressly give us your consent (“opt-in procedure”).

Data Security: SSL Encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption procedures (e.g., SSL) over HTTPS.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to adapt this privacy policy to ensure that it always complies with the current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g., when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your renewed visit.

The current privacy policy can be accessed and printed at any time on the website at https://tv-plattform.de/datenschutz/.
