Head of the Working Group

As Chief Technology Officer Distribution, Dr. Siegbert Meßmer heads distribution at Seven.One Entertainment Group of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE and, alongside CEO Nicole Agudo Berbel, represents the company on the DTVP board.

He has headed the Smart Media working group for many years. With his doctoral expertise in the industrial economics of digital television markets and many years of experience in distribution, addressable TV, and streaming, he brings a rare combination of economic depth and a practical broadcaster perspective to the work of the DTVP.

In today’s media world, metadata is the key to discoverability and thus to access to viewers – whether as traditional linear TV broadcasting or in streaming. The Metadata Task Force is dedicated to monitoring current developments in metadata and creating an overarching understanding of how metadata can advance our business.
