In Focus
Topics we are driving forward.
In working groups, task forces, and at events, broadcasters, manufacturers, platforms, and researchers work together on the issues shaping TV and streaming today — from the DVB-I standard to AI in production. Here you will find an overview of our work and our priorities for 2026.
Priority 2026
AI in Broadcast.
Artificial intelligence is changing the media industry in many areas at once. It enables automated subtitling and metadata creation, shapes recommendations and personalization, and is now reaching deep into production and distribution. With the Media Innovation Platform, DTVP is dedicating 2026 to the question of how AI acts as a game changer in TV and streaming, and what responses practice and regulation can provide.
Focus 2026
DVB-I.
DVB-I makes it possible to distribute linear TV services over the open internet, based on uniform standards and independently of proprietary platforms. The DTVP Task Force developed the implementation profile for the German market, which is aligned with the European Common Profile and is continuously being further developed. The work is accompanied by topic papers, pilot projects, and test material that make the standard ready for practical use.
Events
Where the DACH TV world comes together.
With Plugfest, DTVP maintains one of the key interoperability formats for the hybrid TV world. Every year, more than 30 companies from three continents come together in Berlin to test new technologies under real-world conditions. In addition, the Media Innovation Platform and our presence at ANGA COM shape the events calendar, complemented by the General Assembly and Summer Lounge.
What connects the events is not only the program, but also what happens between the agenda items. Industry conversations at standing tables, personal encounters after months of Teams meetings, new contacts from research and industry. Here, regular exchange grows into an established network, and topics become shared concerns.
Certification
DVB-T2 HD Logo Use
On behalf of the state media authorities, DTVP manages the minimum requirements for receivers and antennas and, upon application, awards the DVB-T2 HD device logo to manufacturers of televisions, receivers, and antennas. The logo provides retailers and consumers with guidance when purchasing devices. Since the introduction of DVB-T2 HD in March 2017, DTVP has certified around 6,000 device models from more than 50 manufacturers.
As a service for viewers and retailers, DTVP publishes the list of DVB-T2 devices certified with the green logo on its website. The list is updated continuously.
Nicole Ludwig, Managing Director of the DTVP“What fascinates me about working for DTVP is this constant momentum: standards mature in the working groups, stakeholders from across Europe meet at the events, and the TV and broadcast market is developing faster than ever before. DVB-I today, AI tomorrow, sustainability the day after — and in between, the many questions that everyday work raises.”
