The DTVP publishes fact-based insights into the German TV and streaming market. The CE Industry Compass, a joint project with ZVEI and NIQ, provided quarterly market data on audio and video. In addition, the DTVP conducted consumer studies on current trend topics. All documents are available for free download.

CE Industry Compass

Edition for the Full Year 2025

The CE Industry Compass by ZVEI and German TV Platform in cooperation with NIQ provided quarterly fact-based insights into the German consumer electronics market — beyond mere sales and revenue figures. The last edition was published in February 2026 with data from the full year 2025. The Industry Compass will not be continued in this form in 2026.

The full year 2025 edition shows: 4.8 million TVs sold represent an increase of 3.2 percent compared to 2024. Large formats over 65 inches grew disproportionately by 15 percent. OLED and QLED increased, and for digital radio, 71 percent of the sold receivers have at least one digital reception option.

Slight Increase in TV Sales

The total sales of TVs increased by 3.2% in 2025 compared to 2024.

A total of 4.8 million devices were sold, around 200,000 more than in 2024.

Sales of Large TVs Increase Disproportionately

While the market is dominated by devices up to 65 inches, TVs with large displays achieved above-average growth in 2025.

In this market segment, sales increased by 15% in 2025, which corresponds to 59,000 devices.

Significant Sales Increase of LCD and OLED Displays

LCD grew moderately by 2 percent to over 4 million devices sold, OLED increased significantly more — a plus of 9.5 percent to 821,000 units.

44 percent of 18-39-year-olds already use suggestions from media libraries and streaming services. 43 percent want individual program recommendations directly when turning on the TV

High awareness, still much potential for usage
Up to 90 percent know Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, but only 15 percent use them actively. Half of the respondents believe that voice input will replace the remote control in the future.
