The car as a media space: DTVP panel at IFA.
Charging break, traffic jam, children in the back seat: all moments when the car has long been more than just a means of transport. It is becoming a place for streaming, gaming and interactive content. At IFA 2026, DTVP brings automotive and entertainment together and asks: How can in-car entertainment move from a promise for the future to a viable business?
On September 4, a high-profile panel on the IFA Dream Stage will bring representatives from both industries together.
Nicole Ludwig · Managing Director DTVP“The car is becoming one of the most exciting places for media, and this future will only emerge through the interplay of automotive and entertainment. We are bringing exactly this interplay to the stage at IFA. Follow a discussion that shows what is already possible today and what is still needed: Be there.”
The car as a third living space opens up new business models and target groups. But the path to get there is still open. Will the permanently installed system prevail, or the open marketplace? Who will bear the costs of growing data volumes? And how can entertainment be created that fits a charging break just as well as a traffic jam? These are exactly the questions the DTVP panel will bring to the stage when representatives from the automotive industry and entertainment meet.
Six experts from both industries will discuss live at IFA in Berlin: Sven Eckoldt (CARIAD), Robert Glas (3SS), Maximilian Baur-Tauber (Seven. One Entertainment Group), Thorsten Böhmer (Gracenote), Christian Hufnagel (ARD/SWR) and Arkin Kol (Dolby). The discussion will be moderated by media journalist Dr. Jörn Krieger, who will also give the welcome address together with DTVP Managing Director Nicole Ludwig.
The panel will take place on September 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. on the IFA Dream Stage in Hall 25. The discussion will be held in German, with a live English translation shown on the screen.
